Cabo Verde gets its Delegation of the Order Constituted

Cape Verde, also referred to in English by its Portuguese name Cabo Verde, and known officially as the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an archipelagic country in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of West Africa. It consists of ten volcanic islands with a combined land area of about 4,033 square kilometres. With a combined population of 530,000, the islands Cape Verde face several major health, environmental, and economic challenges.

Due to this situation, the Grand Prioress-Elect of the Netherlands, Dame Maria Popova DLJ, endeavoured to be the intermediary between the office of the Grand Chancery of the Order and an active team of volunteers led by Dina Monteiro who have hands-on experience and roots in Cabo Verde and the challenges faced by the latter community. In September 2026, Dame Popova had extensive meetings in Malta with the Grand Chancellor in order to pursue this task and propose Consoeur Monteiro as the Lazarite leader in that particular jurisdiction.

Consoeur Dina Monteiro CLJ I is a Cognitive  Behavioral Therapist  and EFT Relationship Therapist, owner of Praktijk-Dinamo and Dinamocoaching. Her practice specializes in intercultural relationships, family issues, and brief schema therapy. She worked for over fifteen years as a lecturer in sociology and psychology at a university of applied sciences but has now dedicated herself to aid and assist those in need by means of her special skills and specialisation.

It was specifically because of the zeal to be active with initiatives which aid the community of Cabo Verde in general that the Supreme Grand Priory approved the constitution of the Delegation of Cabo Verde, with Consoeur Dina Maonteiro appointed as the first Commander of the Delegation. The Supreme Grand Priory wishes the Delegation well and is confident of the latter's contribution to the people of Cabo Verde.
