Fund Raising for the Children of Hohoe-Ahado

The Grand Priory of Germany organised a general fund raising drive by means of its various commanderies in order to aid and assist the children of Hohoe-Ahado in their sanitary and educational needs. This initiative is one in a series of activities targetted to aid and assist the vulnerable in the jurisdiction of Ghana. The Grand Priory of Germany has been aiding and assisting Queen Mamaa Adziwonor III in her projects for quite some time now and we are so pleased to see that such initiatives are successful and that the German members of the Order continue aiding the vulnerable in a particularly needy province of Ghana. In fact, Ahado is a community in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana, where local economic conditions reflect the broader developmental and infrastructural challenges of the municipality.

  • Multidimensional Poverty Rate: In the Hohoe Municipality, approximately 18.8% of the population lives in multidimensionally poor households, according to data from the Ghana Statistical Service.

  • Volta/Oti Regional Standing: The wider Volta and Oti sector has seen a general downward trend in multidimensional poverty (dropping to around 27.3% for the Volta Region in recent tracking), though rural and sub-urban pockets continue to face infrastructure deficits.
