Hospitaller Work with the Indigenous

The Grand Priory of the United States, led by it Grand Prior the Chevalier Michael Torres, has been in the forefront to create joint events with native american tribes in the medicinal sphere of activities.

There are 574 federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native tribes in the United States, according to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Library of Congress. Since the Grand Priory is based in Texas, it stands to reason that the native tribes in the vicinity would be earmarked for such joint events.

Members of the US Grand Priory had an amazing weekend doing healing work with Lipan Apache, Tesuque, Tarahumara & Iroquois Haudenosaunee tribal members and leaders. The medicine wheel was brought together (Native Traditional, Allopathic, Naturopathic, Ayurvedic, etc.) supported by the Black Deer Project, GreenWorld Restoration Foundation & the Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem. Doctors, Nurses, Native Traditional & Alternative Healers and Donors of the Order and Tribes provided volunteer staffing, medical supplies and nutraceuticals. GreenWorld provided the space. Black Deer Project provided the seed to get things started and a path forward for the Black Deer and Lipan Apache Tribe working together. Truly an event to remember.
