New Commandery of the Filipino Community in Malta

The Filipino community in Malta is estimated to exceed 13,000 residents (including around 10,000 registered workers and family members). In fact, Filipinos make up one of the largest non-EU and third-country national (TCN) workforce groups in Malta, ranking among the top foreign-worker nationalities on the islands (alongside India and Italy). Most members of the community work in healthcare and residential care (such as Mater Dei Hospital and local care homes), hospitality, cleaning, domestic services, and corporate/financial sectors.
As with every third country national community operating in Malta, members of the community in question sometimes need all the help that they can get, especially when they are abused or intentionally misinformed or misled on serious matters related to legislation, take home pay and other important issues. The Grand Priory of the Philippines therefore petitioned the Grand Priory of Malta to constitute a specific Commandery which will aid and assist this particular community within the Maltese islands.
The office of the Grand Chancery therefore approved the following officers to serve within this newly constituted Commandery:
Confrere Juanito N. Antonio OLJ
Confrere Joel T. Malabanan OLJ
Confrere Santiago III B. Metillo OLJ
Consoeur Maridel Glinofria OLJ
Consoeur Rhealyn Domato Acas OLJ
Consoeur Ilyn Almonia Quijada OLJ
The Grand Chancellor proposed to the Knights in Council that the Commander-Elect, Confrere Ryden Grinofria CLJ will be given his status as Commander of the Commandery at the 35th Solemn Investiture of the Grand Priories of Malta and Gozo later this year.
By Office of the Grand Chancellor
