33rd Solemn Investiture of the Grand Priories of Malta and Gozo

The 33rd Solemn Investiture held in the islands of Malta of the Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, which was held at the Grand Ballroom of the SAS Radisson Blu St. Julians. Held under the watchful eyes of our Supreme Grand Prior, HIRH Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen, the annual Lazarite gathering featured thirty four postulants joining the Order, more than twenty four thousand Euros donated to various Hospitaller and philanthropic initiatives around the island and abroad, plus the announcement of a number of innovative projects in favour of the vulnerable, both locally and abroad. A number of distinguished delegates from nineteen different countries were also present for the investiture, whose most important vignette was indeed the consecration and appointment of four new Grand Priors: the new Grand Priors of the United States, Nigeria, Bulgaria and that of the Holy Land. The latter was indeed a milestone in the history of our Order since the new Grand Priory of the Holy Land was intended to be consecrated last year but had to be postponed to this year due to the war in the region.
